Level #4: Beginner Group Swim Classes
Unbalanced & Fearful in Water
No fear? Loves water? Needs to learn to swim for safety and parents peace of mind.
Build foundational skills for strokes:
improving, correcting, strengthening proper form in kicks, arm pulls, mastering breath control, and sealing front and back floats.
We always teach safety rules and skills too.
Ages: 3-6 (sometimes older)
Student advances when they can hold a back float for 30 seconds, front float,
jump in, get to the wall, and climb out without assistance.
Level #5: Floater Group Swim Class
Comfortable with their face in water
Student can hold a solo back float. Doggie paddle does not qualify.
With foundational skills like breath control, solid floats, and straight leg kicks, it's time to build strokes.
We start with a competitive backstroke then the resting stroke (elementary backstroke) because these are lifesaving skills.
Then the beginnings of freestyle with tummy floating in streamline position with kick and arm pull comes next.
Ages: 5 and older
Student advances when they can swim the length of the pool with both back strokes, has great breath control,
no fear, and streamline front floats.
Level #6: Swimmer
Can do 2 backstrokes & streamline front float
Why do I get so tired while swimming? How do I prepare to join the swim team? Am I safe in water?
How do I side breathe while swimming freestyle?
By the end of this course you will know the proper techniques for three different strokes and beyond.
The main focus is rotary side breathing and proper rhythm & head position for freestyle.
Build stamina, strength, confidence and skills.
Ages: 8 and older (sometimes younger)
Student graduates with a Water Safe Certificate when they
pass a written safety exam and can
jump into deep water,
tread water for 1 minute,
swim 100 yards without touching the wall or bottom,
then float for 1 minute and climb out.
Student can advance to T.E.C.H
Level #7: T.E.C.H.
